1. Who we are

This website, www.lucychampion.com, is operated by ANÚNA Teoranta, a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland under company number 201294.

The website provides information about the work of educator and performer Lucy Champion. ANÚNA Teoranta determines how and why personal data collected through the website is processed and is therefore the Data Controller for that information.

Contact email: info@anuna.ie

2. What personal data we collect

Information you provide through the contact form

The contact form asks for your name, email address, subject and message. Providing this information is voluntary, but we may be unable to consider or respond to an enquiry without the information needed to do so. Please provide only the information reasonably needed for your enquiry.

When you use the contact form, the information you provide is transmitted to us by email and is also stored in the Squarespace Contacts area as a form submission. Form submitters are not added to a mailing list and are not sent marketing communications.

Form submission emails are sent to info@anuna.ie and redirected to Michael McGlynn through ANÚNA Teoranta’s Google Workspace account. Access to the submissions is limited to Michael McGlynn, subject to the technical access required by Squarespace and Google to provide their services.

Technical and website usage information

When you visit the website, Squarespace, our website platform, may process technical information such as:

your IP address;

browser, device and operating system information;

the date and time of your visit and the pages viewed;

the website or search term that referred you to this site;

your cookie consent choices.

Squarespace may record limited page view and technical information even where performance and analytics cookies have been declined. In that situation, it cannot reliably connect consecutive page views into the same visit or recognise a returning visitor. Cookie based identifiers used to connect events into visits and recognise returning visitors are used only where you have consented to performance and analytics cookies.

Squarespace’s visitor level Activity Log is disabled, so individual IP addresses are not displayed to us through that feature. Squarespace may nevertheless process technical information, including IP addresses, for security, platform operation and the production of general analytics.

Information not collected through this website

This website does not operate a mailing list, customer accounts, online payments, downloadable purchases, event registration or booking facilities.

3. Special category data

We do not ask you to provide sensitive or special category personal data through the website. This includes information about health, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin, trade union membership, genetic data or biometric data.

Please do not include this type of information in a general enquiry unless it is necessary for us to deal with that enquiry. If you nevertheless provide it, we will process it only where necessary and where data protection law permits us to do so. Information that is not required will be deleted when reasonably practicable.

4. How we use personal data

to receive, consider and respond to enquiries;

to communicate about relevant matters such as teaching and performances, professional projects and other matters raised by the correspondent;

to take steps requested before entering into a contract and to administer professional or contractual relationships;

to operate, protect and maintain the security of the website;

to understand general website usage, with cookie based analytics used only where consent has been given;

to comply with legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting obligations;

to establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.

We do not use contact form information for marketing and do not sell or rent personal data.

5. Lawful bases for processing

Legitimate interests. We rely on legitimate interests to receive and respond to enquiries, maintain professional relationships, administer our activities, protect the website and protect our legal rights. We do not rely on this basis where your rights and interests override ours.

Steps before a contract and contractual necessity. We rely on this basis where you ask us to consider a commission, engagement, licence, collaboration or other agreement, or where processing is necessary to perform an agreement with you.

Consent. We rely on consent for non essential cookies and related analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time through the Cookie Preferences control. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

Legal obligation. We rely on this basis where information must be processed or retained to comply with the law.

6. Who receives personal data

Personal data may be received or processed by:

Squarespace, Inc., which hosts the website, transmits contact form submissions by email, stores form submitters in the Squarespace Contacts area and provides website analytics;

Google Workspace, which provides the email service used to receive and retain correspondence;

Google and YouTube, but only when you choose to play an embedded YouTube video;

information technology, security or technical support providers where access is necessary to provide their services;

professional advisers, such as accountants or solicitors, where access is necessary for legal, accounting or regulatory purposes;

courts, regulators, law enforcement bodies or other public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

These organisations may act as processors on our instructions or as independent controllers where they determine their own purposes and means of processing. We do not sell or trade personal data.

7. International transfers

Squarespace and Google are international service providers, and personal data may be processed or stored outside Ireland and the European Economic Area.

Squarespace states that it participates in the EU US Data Privacy Framework and uses the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses where required. Google Workspace provides contractual data protection terms incorporating Standard Contractual Clauses for relevant international transfers. Google and YouTube process information loaded through their services under Google’s own privacy terms.

Contact info@anuna.ie for further information about safeguards relevant to transfers that we control.

8. How long we retain information

Contact form submissions and the corresponding email correspondence are retained while they remain relevant to an ongoing or reasonably anticipated professional relationship, project, commission or enquiry.

People may contact Michael McGlynn intermittently over a number of years. Relevant correspondence may therefore be retained for longer periods where it provides necessary context for continuing or renewed contact. Records are reviewed periodically and deleted when they are no longer reasonably required.

Information may be retained for longer where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Cookie durations are stated in the cookie section below.

9. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Your data protection rights

Subject to the conditions and exemptions in data protection law, you may have the right to:

be informed about how your personal data is used;

access your personal data;

have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected;

request deletion of your personal data;

request that processing be restricted;

object to processing based on legitimate interests;

receive certain personal data in a portable format;

withdraw consent at any time;

lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission in Ireland.

To exercise a right, contact info@anuna.ie. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the period required by law.

11. Automated decision making

We do not use personal data collected through this website to make decisions based solely on automated processing, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Websites may also use browser storage or similar technologies. These technologies can help a website function, remember choices, measure usage and load content supplied by other services.

Cookie controls on this website

The site displays a cookie banner with options to Accept, Decline or Manage Preferences. Necessary cookies are always available because they are required for the website to operate securely. Performance and analytics cookies are restricted until you consent. You may change your choices later through the Cookie Preferences control displayed on the site.

Cookie based identifiers used for sessions and returning visitors are restricted until you accept performance and analytics cookies.

ANÚNA Teoranta uses this information only to understand general website usage. It is not used for advertising or supplied to other organisations for their marketing.

Embedded YouTube videos

YouTube videos on this website are displayed initially as static preview images with a Play button. The YouTube player does not load, and Google and YouTube are not contacted, until you choose to press Play.

When you press Play, you request that the YouTube player be loaded within the site. Google and YouTube may then place cookies on your device and process technical information and information about your viewing activity under Google’s own privacy and cookie policies. Depending on your Google settings, this processing may support functionality, security, analytics, personalisation or advertising. ANÚNA Teoranta does not control Google’s subsequent processing.

External links

The website may contain ordinary links to external services and websites, including streaming platforms and social media services. Following an ordinary external link does not itself place that external service’s cookies on www.michaelmcglynn.com. Once you visit the external website, it may set its own cookies or process personal data under its own policies. ANÚNA Teoranta does not control the cookies or privacy practices of external websites.

Managing or withdrawing cookie consent

You may change or withdraw your choices concerning Squarespace performance and analytics cookies at any time by selecting the Cookie Preferences control on the site.

Playing an embedded YouTube video is a separate choice to load content supplied by Google and YouTube. The Cookie Preferences control may not remove Google or YouTube cookies already placed after a video was played. Those cookies can be managed through your browser settings and, where applicable, your Google privacy settings.

Clearing the cookies set by www.lucychampion.com will cause the site’s cookie banner to appear again on your next visit. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy and Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the website, our activities, service providers or the law. The current version will be published on this website with the date of the most recent revision.
